All In A Saturday

I was so excited when I woke up today and realized that it was Saturday.  I've been having a bit of trouble keeping my days straight.  Recently when Evan woke up in the middle of the night one night, I thought it was no big deal because it was Saturday and I didn't have to get up for work, however it was not Saturday, it was Wednesday.  Today I double checked, yep, really Saturday. 


Mike had to go into work for a while because they are shorthanded in the shop, so it was just Evan and I at home.  We played and read and ate and snuggled and it was great.

I was able to get my homework done that is due tomorrow, and I worked on my laundry room too!  I built, a shelving unit,  cleaned up in there, and made some collage posters.

I hung them on the cabinet doors because I decided against painting the doors.   We have been thinking about buying a house again so the changes I make around here will probably be a little less.

Then we ventured out as a family for dinner with my dad for his birthday at the best Chinese restaurant around.  I made him some Carrot Cake cupcakes

One of my unspoken resolutions this year was to make sure and acknowledge birthdays of the ones I love. It seems like the perfect time to show someone that they are important to you.  So I am hoping to make some special cupcakes for my nearest and dearest on all of their birthdays this year.  These were a box mix so I don't have a recipe to share, but I can do better, and I will!
