This week I am thankful for perseverance.
per·se·ver·ance [pur-suh-veer-uh
ns]
noun
1. steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
I was supposed to have my first day of class for the semester on Monday, but I ended up being too sick to make it there. I emailed the professor the following day to ask that he send me whatever I needed to be on schedule for the following week. He responded that unfortunately I had been dropped from the class because I missed the first day. He said I would need to re-register before proceeding.
I pondered for some of the day. I wondered if this was a sign that I shouldn't be enrolled this semester. I have a second class online that I could easily drop. I could focus on the million other things I have going on right now. I finally made the decision, and called the registrars office and re-enrolled in the class. I'm in it to win if folks. I can't give up now!
